Based on tales told by generations of fishermen
on the North Norfolk Coast,
the Yow-Yows are said to be the ghosts of sailors
who were not given formal burials
with religious rites.
These animations explore two interpretations of the legend.
Two local fishermen went out to catch their weekly fish.
They heard growling from the sea bed.
They reported strange happenings out at sea.
These monsters were warnings, which the locals would be foolish to ignore.
The locals called them the Yow Yows.
