Splash! “Be quiet”. Fisher the otter said. “Come on Nosey, I want to show you how to hunt.” Then they went in the great river and caught some fish, meanwhile, Mother was at the den with Holly.

“it’s time to go home before it get dark.”

They went home dragging all the fish.

In the morning all they heard was thump, thump, thump! Men were digging a hole then the area was full of water. The water was coming in the den, they had to move. So they moved more along the river but all the river bank was full of otters.

“Oh its you Nibbler”, complained fisher. The kingfisher had lost 1 egg in the flood and said “lets help each other, ok?” Fisher replies, “agreed.” “We need to cross the great river” announced Nosey. The otters went first and got across, this attracted a lot of pike, so they had to hury.

“We need to fly over” Nibbles confidently told her young. Half way over one of the ? started to lose height and one of the hunting pike grabbed his dnanee and took it.

Nibbler and the other chick made it. As they were recovering from their shock at losing the chick another problem occurred!

A boat moored up beside them.

“We’ll have to keep moving” cried the exhausted Mother otter.

“Wait not yet” exclaimed Nibbler, Heron flew over head. Luckily it kept flying on. Now it was safe to move. They all knew that they still had a long way to go to get to safety

Eventually as the sun began to set they found a safe place to call home until the next danger arrived.
